Charity
This series takes a look at the world of charity and good causes.
Welcome to the Trinity Hospice charity shop in Lytham, Lancashire. A different class of charity shop. Trinity Hospice together with Brian House Children’s Hospice have around 24 shops on the Fylde raising funds for their hospices and work in the community. This shop is in a different class. I always look in the shop windows of charity shops to see if they have interesting displays to photograph. The Lytham shop had a very nice valentine theme when i visited. I took a couple of photographs just as a lady came out sporting a red hat and shoes which I thought matched the display. From behind the counter a man noticed me taking photos and came to the door, inviting me to come in. I said but I’ve got my dog with me and they’re not normally allowed in charity shops. “Well they’re welcome here” he said. Going inside I see it’s like a high class West End store. There are glass chandeliers hung from the ceiling, black and white tiled floors, good quality fashion clothing, shoes, books and more. Gone is the ‘pile it high and sell it cheap’ method of many charity shops. My dog was even given a treat, apparently they were given to all dogs that come into the shop and the Border Collie that came in while I was taking photos was treated in the same way. This shop is in a different class and long may they be successful. Thank you Trinity Hospice Charity Shop in Lytham for allowing me and my dog in to photograph your shop
